Opening hours

From 12th to 25th November 2024 the Library will be open:

In the self-service mode:

• You can enter the Library only with a valid library card.
• You can use our collections in the Open Stacks area, WiFi (BUW.Hotspot) and online resources.
• Registration, Circulation Desk, Reading Room, Interlibrary Loan and 19th Century Publications Department Reading Room will be closed.

Opening hours

BUW is open 24 hours a day, partly in self-service mode.

Attention! From 4pm, 8 November until 25 November, the Registration Point, Circulation Desk, Interlibrary Loan Office, Reading Room, 19th Century Publications Department Reading Room will be closed. Also, Self-check Stations and the Pick up Locker will not be available. More information about the library system change

From Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 9 pm, the following service points are open: the Registration and Information Points, the Circulation Desk, the Reading Room, and the Information Desk.

On Sundays, only the Information Desk is open from 3 to 8 pm.

The staffed cloakroom is open 24/7.

In the self-service mode:

• You can enter the Library only with a valid library card.  UW students and staff can activate online their card as a library card at any time. If you are not a University member and do not have a valid library card, your first visit must be scheduled during the opening hours of the Registration Point.
• You can use our collections in the Open Stacks area, WiFi (BUW.Hotspot) and online resources.
• You can borrow books from the Open Stacks and the Textbook Collection, renew the return dates and pay fines at the Selfcheck stations.
• You can pick up books ordered from the Closed Stacks in the Pick-up Locker 24 hours a day.
• You can return borrowed books to the Return Box or via the Selfcheck stations.

Please note that on the days before the fixed closing dates, the Library is open until 10 p.m. The following  days the Library opens at 8 a.m.

8 am – 8 pm – from May 1st – until September 30th
8 am – 6 pm – April and October
8 am – 3 pm – from November 1st – March 31st – only the Lower Garden
